High Springs Adventure

High Springs Florida is another one of our favorite places to go in the state. It’s about an hour and a half southwest drive from Jacksonville. Plenty of camping, many springs, crystal clear water, 70 degrees year round water temperature. The springs flow into the Sant Fe River which flows at a walking pace. We always kayak or canoe down the Santa Fe River where the springs flow into. On this day we kayaked about 7 miles with the flow of the river which travels at walking speed so it wasn't too difficult. We hired a rental company that rents floating devices to transport us up river https://www.aoafun.com/ We left our vehicle at the boat ramp where we ended the trip. We started at Poe Springs, went diving at Gilchrist Springs, visited Lily Springs where Naked Ed lived, floated by Ginnie Springs (the camp and party spot), took a break near the Devil's Eye Springs, and finished right at sunset.
