Silver Springs
Silver Springs is a state park spring just east of Ocala, near the Ocala National Forest.

It offers Kayak rentals, tours, glass bottom kayaks, glass bottom boats, and picnic areas. Unfortunately, there is no swimming. This was something we were looking for to have relief from this Florida heat. Luckily, there are several other springs nearby that allow swimming.
The main reason for our visit is to check out the springs, and hope to see the monkeys.We did not see any :( But we still enjoyed our kayak tour. During the tour, we learned the history of the springs, and how the monkeys were transported here for several different reasons. Some say they were for a movie, some say they escaped from being domesticated pets.
