Kings Landing
Here is our visit to Kings Landing at Wekiwa and Rock Springs, and to the manatee refuge over in Blue Springs state park. We had fun kayaking these springs for the first time.
Kings Landing is a private launch site and camp ground. You can rent Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards while you’re there. They have a large camp ground with only port-a-potties on site. The bathrooms didn’t seem to work while we were there. There are miles of spring streams with primitive camp sites along the water. There are also shuttles to transport you and your paddle boat from the end and back to the start where everyone is parked. It was very nice stream with no motor boats due to the shallow areas of the stream.

Blue Springs State Park is actually along the St. Johns River. We had a quick visit to the park and manatee refuge. You can’t kayak or swim inside the refuge but the manatee will swim out to you. There are viewing areas at the refuge from the park but I would suggest paddling to near the refuge for a closer interaction with the manatees. We saw a lot more wildlife in this area as we paddled around. I would definitely go back for a tour or fish in the area.
